reunited at last.

le 19 novembre   I’ve always loved Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but I’m not sure if I’ll ever taste one as delicious as the one I’m eating right now.  There’s nothing special about it, really, just the standard chocolate coating with a peanut buttery interior.  Not having had chocolate or peanut butter for almost two straight months, though? Oh my goodness.. to have the two TOGETHER? It’s a rare treat.

At 11h40 today, just about at the end of our last class of the week, a man walked up to where we were doing an activity. As soon as he pulled out a Ready Post box from his messenger bag, I ran over – who else would this be for? Not speaking a word of French or English, this man spoke to my friend Samuel who in turn spoke to me – yes, this is from America. It’s for you, Laura. Do you have an id? Meh. Having to run back to the house in the middle of class, I returned with my Rhode Island driver’s license (which of course eventually got passed around the group). I signed, dated, signed dated… AT LAST! The package from my family has arrived!

Knowing very well what was inside, I suppose opening the package shouldn’t have been too much of a surprise. This may as well have been Christmas morning, though, as I was beaming from the minute the post man arrived to just now opening it (a few hours later). Inside were a only a few things, but those few are of utmost importance to me: my 2010 pocket calendar (which I’d left by accident), a new sports watch (mine is falling apart), two Jamaica bracelets (that’s a traumatic story, but mine SNAPPED a few weeks back – Jan. ’09 – Oct. ’10!), boston baked beans., peanut m&m’s and a couple packages of reese’s. Oh yes, and Gatorade packets for electrolytes in case I get sick. I’ve never been more thrilled by a present.

I wonder how long I can make the candy last, though!
