Le 15 janvier This morning started just like any other – 6h15 mass at the house (in French!), the priest stays for breakfast, we all go our own ways to do what we need to accomplish for the day. I swept and mopped the floor, washed all my clothing, started on with the kitchen towels…
Sr. Ema came out to where I was washing the blue right out of my jeans (literally… they’re actually fading) and asked if I’d want to run errands with her in Gisenyi after lunch. Of course I would!
Twenty minutes and three articles of clothing later, she came back out. Change of plans – would you mind coming to Kigali and Butare? We’ll come back when we’re done – Wednesday or Thursday, probably.
AH! I’d been looking for a break from my daily routine (which doesn’t change too much on the weekends either), and this was a little gift from God. Lord, sometimes we can’t see the result of our prayers so obviously, but this one? I owe ya one.
