“Get in my luggage!”

Le 15 fevrier   I can’t put my finger on what exactly it is that makes the Rwandan people so instantly lovable, but it might have something to do with their easy smiles and beautiful faces.  By day three, dad was already bothered by the fact that he would be leaving behind these incredible people when he would go back to the United States.
Somehow, in explaining his frustration to mom and me at dinner, he decided that he would start collecting the Rwandan people – young and old – and take them back home with him so that he could enjoy their presence long past their departure.  Very straight-faced (which shows just how sincere he was about this idea), he enacted what would happen tomorrow when he saw people along the way – “Get in my luggage!” he exclaimed.
If only it were that simple.
